22.5 degree, 8″ OD x 4″ ID x 1/2″ thick Neodymium Wedge Magnet for Wind Generators, Grade N42[NA001] Added to Applied Magnets Catalog

Wednesday, June 25th, 2008

A new addition to our line-up of 22.5 degree wedge magnets is our new 22.5 degree, 8″ OD x 4″ ID x 1/2″ thick Neodymium Wedge Magnet for Wind Generators, Grade N42[NA001].
Rare Earth Neodymium NdFeB Magnet, 22.5 degree, 8″ OD x 4″ ID x 0.5″ thick Wedge Segment, Nickel-Copper-Nickel Plated, Grade N42SH
N42 grade
Operating temperature: 150 degree F (80 degree C)
These magnets are used for building efficient and powerful wind generators.
Wind generators built with these wedge magnets have better performance than the wind generators built with 2×1x0.5″ magnets

1.57″ at the wide end, 0.78″ at the narrow end, 2″ long, 0.5″ thick

16 pieces of these wedge magnets can form a ring of 8″ OD x 4″ ID x 1/2″ thick

Grade N42, 20% stronger than N35, stronger than N40, N38 grades

Magnetized through the thickness, poles are on the flat surfaces

NdFeB Patent Licensed, ISO Certified

BrMax: 13200 gauss

Magnet Pole Detector - Identifier - [POLE-1] Hot New Item - Now In Stock!

Thursday, March 27th, 2008

This is a great new gadget we are carrying!
Works with all types of magnets!

How does it identify the north and south poles of a permanent magnet?

Simply press and hold the black oval button. Then, place the tip of the detector near the surface of the magnet.

If it is the North Pole, the Red LED will glow.
Magnet Pole Detector - Identifier-North
Magnet Pole Detector - Identifier-South
If it’s the South Pole, the Green LED will glow.

It’s just that simple.

And if the button is held and the unit is moved around the surface of the magnet….you can see the transition from one pole to another.

This pole identifier is guaranteed to be 100% accurate.

It can be used for NdFeB, SmCo, AlNiCo, Ceramic and most other magnets and refrigerator/flexible magnets.

Applications
• Pole detection of permanent magnets
• Measurement of stray magnetic fields in packaging
• Coil testing
• Post-magnetization polarity checks

Helps with the following tasks:
• Electric motor assembly
• Installation of magnetic clamping blocks
• Error Analysis
• Multipole quality control
• Pole detection of therapy magnets

Dimensions: approx. 5.6″ x 0.9″ x 0.8″, measuring side 1/2″ x 1/2″
Weight: approx. 0.08 lb with batteries
Display: two LED display (green= south, red=north)
Sensitivity: ±17mT (170Gs) on/off hysteresis
Operating temperature range: -10°C ~ +50°C

What Are Rare Earth Magnets

Friday, September 21st, 2007

Magnets are quite common in a wide range of devices we use on a daily basis. Without magnets a lot of very common items would not work such as the alternators of cars, which would greatly affect our everyday life. There is a wide range of different types of magnets available, everything from neodymium magnets to rare earth magnets and the list goes on. These magnets come if a variety of shapes and sizes, some being flexible while others are strong and solid making there possible uses vary quite a bit.

A popular magnet type is called Rare Earth Magnets. These magnets are strong and are made from different alloys of rare earth elements. A rare earth element is a collection of chemical elements that are in the periodic table and which occur naturally on Earth. Rare Earth Magnets are quite a bit stronger than most other types of magnets including alnico and ferrite magnets, making them a popular magnet choice.

Rare Earth Magnets are used in quote a bit of common everyday items including, computer hard drives and monitors, audio speakers and car alternators, just to name a few. Because of this rare earth magnets are an important part of out everyday life and should not be taken for granted.
